MILITARY SPECIFICATION
PUNCHING, SHEARING, NOTCHING, AND COPING MACHINE, METAL,
MECHANICAL DRIVE
This specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies of the
Department of Defense.
1.
SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers mechanically driven metalworking
machines capable of performing punching, shearing, notching,
and coping
operations on steel bars, structural shapes, and plates of the dimensions and
strengths specified herein.
1.2 Classification. The machine shall be of the following sizes. The
size to be furnished shall be as specified (see 3.5 and 6.2). Size is
determined by nominal punch capacity in tons and throat depth in inches.
